Final Fantasy XIII-2 is currently in production with an aim for producing high quality game contents which exceeds "Final Fantasy XIII" in every aspect; namely, a brand-new story which stems from the previous title as well as a battle system which has evolved further since "XIII" – and more.
From the release of the first Final Fantasy in 1987, this unique RPG series has continued to offer the industry’s most advanced graphics, highly imaginative worlds and rich stories as it gains the highest accolades from users around the world. She spent years fighting her destiny. With courage in her heart, she faced the false gods who ruled over people for centuries.
Her unfaltering determination changed the world. The gods were vanquished, their plans to massacre the human race destroyed. As Cocoon fell, a single pillar formed, connecting the ravaged world to the one below-Pulse, the underworld. It was the beginning of a new era.
However, she was nowhere to be found. Everyone was convinced she was gone-with the exception of her sister, Serah Farron.
Three years later:
A single meteorite falls from the sky. As spatial distortions are created, bloodthirsty monsters appear, threatening the peaceful existence of the townspeople.
In the midst of this chaos, Serah is rescued by a young man by the name of Noel. A hunter from the future, he appears in front of her with a message.
"Come with me across the boundaries of time," he says. "Your sister is waiting."
She is Lightning—protector of the Goddess who rules the realm of death and chaos. She is Serah’s sister, her heroine, her savior.

Ten eerste het is echt een geweldig spel. Wanneer je deel 1 top vond vind je deze nog veel leuker. Daarnaast had ik wat problemen met de betaling, dit is snel en uiterst correct door Zavvi afgehandeld. Mijn complimenten daar voor.

Het zelfde mooie vechtsysteem als XIII, maar met een minder lineaire spelwereld. Een aanrader voor alle Final Fantasy fans die deeltje 13 leuk vonden.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 gaat verder daar waar Final Fantasy XIII stopte. Het spel verteld een nieuw verhaal en ditmaal heb je slechts de controle over 2 hoofdpersonages. Serah is het zusje van Lightning(hoofdpersonage van Final Fantasy XIII) en Noel is een tijdreiziger uit de toekomst. Het spel behoud veel van de elementen uit het vorige deel. Het vechtsysteem en level systeem zijn licht aan gepast maar in grote lijnen nog steeds hetzelfde. Ditmaal is het 3e personage in je team een monster in plaats van een andere personage. Deze monsters verkrijg je na gevechten tegen deze monsters en je kan ze ook levelen. De monsters hebben elk 1 rol. Deze kun je dan gebruiken in je Paradigm pack. In het vorige deel was er niet veel ruimte om je vrije gang te gaan. Je was bijna verplicht om het verhaal op rails te spelen. In deze versie heb je veel meer vrijheid en kun je eerder bezochte gebieden steeds opnieuw bezoeken en nieuwe quests starten. Dit gebeurt door middel van tijdreizen in een menu genaamd de Historia Crux. Voor gamers die Final Fantasy XIII geweldig vonden is dit spel een even of zelfs betere ervaring. De vrijheid, het verhaal, vechtsysteem en missies maken het spel echt leuk en een echte aanrader voor Japanse RPG fans.
