At a remote castle a vampire bat dribbles fresh blood over smouldering remains, resurrecting the infamous Count Dracula (Christopher Lee - Raspulin the Mad Monk, The Devil Rides Out). Terrified villagers set fire to the castle, but later discover that a swarm of vengeful bats has killed the women and children that sought sanctuary in the local church. Some years later, a traveller named Paul (Christopher Matthews - Blind Terror, Scream and Scream Again) hitches a lift with Dracula's manservant Klove (Patrick Troughton - The Omen, The Viking Queen) and stays at the castle. He is seduced be a beautiful vampire, but the girl is stabbed by Dracula when she attempts to feed off Paul. Paul's brother Simon (Dennis Waterman - Up the Junction. The Sweeny) and the besotted Sarah (Jenny Hanley - Tam Lin, On Her Majesty's Secrel Service) arrive at the castle to look for Paul. Before Long, they are also guests of the bloodthirsty Count...
