Head And Heart
Colin's fallen in lust again, this time with the new secretary at Norbridge High. A misunderstanding leads Colin to discover that she is having an affair with Mr Winters, the headmaster, who is in charge of a new national committee teaching teenagers about fidelity and commitment to love. The news team must therefore decide if Mr Winters' adultery is newsworthy and what, if anything, would be achieved should they decide to report his infidelity. Will a good stroke make things better? Is death a promotion? Ask Colin - he's got a cute bottom and all the girls really fancy him!
Friendly Fire
'Dear Friend - and I hope, after this, you still are my friend. I made a difficult decision today - one I think you might hate me for. I have my reasons, of course. I think they're good ones, but that's how the story ends, right'? And you're always telling everyone around here the best place to start is at the beginning. Okay, since I'm going to be way out of range of your advice from now on maybe I should take it this one last time.
Once upon a time, long before there ever was a Junior Gazette, there was an English exam. And a girl called Sarah...'
A Quarter to Midnight
Friday, 10.51pm. Lynda is off investigating a story about dangerous toys while the others are enjoying a meal at a fancy restaurant. Once she has finished inspecting documents in a vault, Lynda will go home and take the weekend off. No-one is expecting to hear or see her until Monday. So when she gets trapped inside the vault with just her portable phone and no way out, Lynda begins to panic. Soon the vault will contain a portable phone with a dying battery... and a dying owner.
Food, Love and Insecurity
Tony Barrett, a financial consultant, went missing two days ago owing over four million pounds to his creditors. His fiance, Phillipa Prescott still lives in Norbridge. She also happens to be one of Spike's ex-girlfriends. With this advantage, Julie is sure that Spike can get information from Phillipa that no other journalist in the country has a chance of getting. She suggests he takes Phillipa to a restaurant for dinner. The table will be bugged, Spike will be on top form and Phillipa will be singing like a canary. Only one thing stands in their way - and Lynda's determined it's going to be her.
Windfall
Colin convinces Julie that he could be normal if she would agree to go on a date with him. Torn between revulsion and genuine sympathy for him, she relents, even though she knows she's asking for trouble. She shouldn't be too surprised therefore, when a one-hundred pound note leads her to find Colin chained atop a violent thug in hiding. The best thing she can hope for is that Colin won't add to the evening's ever-increasing body-count.
There Are Crocodiles
'Ok, it's like this. There's a tribe living by a river, and in the river there are crocodiles. The tribe has one particular piece of wisdom passed down through the generations. It goes like this: If you happen to meet a crocodile, don't stick your head in its mouth. Every now and then, and who knows the reason, people ignore this advice - which is sad, because they die. They're very stupid because they were warned. They had a choice.'
The moral of the story is this: "You can't afford to be stupid - there are crocodiles."
