Road To Rio:
Hope and Crosby had a vested interest in this 5th 'Road' movie, they were executive producers. The pair play musicians down on their luck, they play a one night stand at a carnival and burn the place down then stow away on a liner for Rio de Janeiro where they encounter the beautiful Lamour whose sinister aunt is marrying her off to a no-good. The boys intervene when they discover that the aunt is hypnotising Lamour and save the day in a wild finale.
The Flying Deuces:
Ollie's broken heart lands Laurel & Hardy in the Foreign Legion. The comic pair then escape a firing squad to suffer a plane crash that results in Hardy's reincarnation as a horse.
Musical interludes include Oliver Hardy singing "Shine On Harvey Moon" and "Soft Shoe" by Stan Laurel - some of the film's many classic highlights.
Flying Deuces is a comedy in full flight during the comedy duo's great period of glory from the streets of Paris to the Arabian Desert - with laughter all the way!
At War With The Army:
At War with the Army is the first feature film Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis made together and the film that sealed their success. Martin has girl trouble so Lewis decides to lend him a hand, the ensuing comedy is a result of Jerry's questionable assistance, the early sighs of Jerry Lewis's comedy genius are clearly evident, particularly in the bar room sequence where Lewis, dressed in drag serenades his superior officer.
The Ghost Breakers:
Mary Carter inherits her family's ancestral home, located on a small island off Cuba and, despite warnings and death threats she decides to take possession of the reputedly haunted castle. Mary is joined by radio broadcaster Larry Lawrence who, believing he has killed a mob gunman flees New York with his butler Alex. Once on the island the threesome enter the eerie castle and after viewing the ghost of one of Mary's ancestors and fighting off a menacing zombie they find the key to the castle's treasure but are interrupted by an all-too-human foe.
The 3 Stooges Extravaganza:
This DVD edition is a must for an Stooges fan, almost 3 hours of classic Stooges fun, enjoy 2 hours of Uncle Mousie Gurner's colour scrapbook of Stooges memories, this documentary made in 1971 offers a colourful collection of short comic skits and madcap adventures and captures the comedy trio at their colourful best. And as if that wasn't enough, enjoy the extra 50 minutes worth of material which includes three classic shorts: Sing a Song of Six Pants (1947), Disorder in the Court (1936) and Bridless Groom (1947). If it's not one problem it's another in this rib tickling laugh session - your favourite The 3 Stooges.
Africa Screams:
Abbott and Costello go on an African Safari in possession of a secret map which will lead them to some precious hidden diamonds. Plenty of jungle slapstick, good production values and a supporting cast of familiar comedy faces. Shemp Howard of the "Three Stooges" and Hillary Brooke, a classic noire actress and light comedienne, team up with Clyde Beatty, the worlds greatest animal trainer in this romping spoof of the safari adventure genre.
