De Doctor in de marge.
Als je nog geen Doctor Who fan bent koop je beter de grote box met de vier eerste seizoenen want zonder die ben je een beetje verloren met de Specials. Niettemin, als fan van de Doctor is deze "Specials" een fijne aanvulling met een aantal geweldige momenten. In "the next Doctor" zit er een fantastische climax met een geweldige confrontatie tussen de Doctor in zijn alternatieve Tardis en het "voertuig" van de Cybermen. Ik verklap hier niets maar het is geweldig. Planet Of The Dead komt dan weer met leuke nieuwe personages, zoals de gesofisticeerde dievegge die zo uit Mission Impossible lijkt weggelopen. The waters of Mars kan gewoon in de bioscoop, een creapy Mars film, vaagweg in de traditie van "The thing". The end of time part One en Two zijn ...het afscheid van de doctor in zijn huidige verschijningsvorm. Een ouwe vijand komt weer om de hoek kijken in vorm van de "master" En op het eind zien we hoe Matt Smith de nieuwe Doctor wordt. Afscheid van de fantastische David Tennant die de Doctor intens op het kleine scherm bracht. Waarom is Doctor Who een must see? Een aangrijpende mix van Sci-fi, surrealisme, humor, camp en kitch en Europees aanvoelende personages. Het hoeft niet altijd gestroomlijnd te zijn op! Hollywood zit op een verre planneet en de Tardis komt daar niet langs. Een verademing. Oja, het vervolg, Seizoen 5 en 6 zijn fenomenaal!
