With the arrival of the Deetz family who buy the house, the Maitland's try to scare them away from the house. A film where wild and comical ideas could co-exist. The film also cemented Michael Keaton as a comedy actor. Keaton originally turned down the role but later reconsidered like most of the Beetlejuice cast, the film went on to be the 10th highest grossing film of 1988.
