Mooi om helemaal te zien!
Toen deze serie werd uitgezonden hadden wij thuis mogelijk nog geen kleuren televisie. En dat was in dezelfde tijd als de andere legendarische SF serie Star Trek was begonnen. Ik ben blij dat ik nu de hele serie thuis in kleur heb kunnen zien in de beste kwaliteit op BluRay. Ik begreep uit de extra's dat toen een seizoen van de serie UFO plotseling wegviel de makers besloten om alle reeds gedane investeringen aan props en dergelijke te gebruiken voor de serie Space 1999. Tijdens het bekijken van deze serie viel mij een aantal dingen op die wetenswaardig zijn. Zoals dat in 1 episode een gastactrice later echtgenote is geworden van de beroemde Peter Sellers. Die na zijn dood zijn totale nalatenschap erfde maar uiteindelijk zelf dood in bed gevonden werd in Amerika in 1993. Het heeft niets met de goede SF serie te maken maar zette mij toch aan het denken. Wat ook opviel was dat er door acteurs en actrices in zowel de serie UFO als in Space 1999 driftig gerookt werd. Wat in de serie UFO bijna gepromoot werd maar in de serie Space 1999 gelukkig alleen achter de schermen zichtbaar was. Ik ben geen moderecensent maar voor wat de beenmode van de dames in Space1999 betreft gaven die deze serie een extra fetish sf tintje. Waar Star Trek nogal stijfjes leek. Ik had Space 1999 serie 1 destijds al gekocht dus kocht serie 2 later ook.
