When five teenage outsiders get caught in a freak storm while on community service they suddenly find themselves with strange superpowers.
Hard-as-nails Kelly finds she can read minds, disgraced sporting hero Curtis can turn back time, party-girl Alisha can send people into a sexual frenzy with one touch and painfully shy Simon can turn invisible. At first smart-alec Nathan is miffed he is the only one who doesn’t have a power until he discovers what it is. Then some of the other townsfolk, including cocky Rudy, discover they’ve also been affected by the storm.
Unlike their more conventional counterparts, our misfits don’t swap their mobile phones and ankle tags for capes and tights. Instead, they discover just how tough life can be when you’re all that stands between good and evil.

Kort maar krachtig!
Grappig hoe Engeland toch telkens weer series weet te maken die kort maar krachtig zijn. En daar bedoel ik niet mee dat de serie stop gezet is ofzo maar eerder dat het telkens seizoenen zijn van 6, 7 of 8 afleveringen. Misfits is snel, grappig en zeker absurd. Het om leren gaan met hun superkrachten geeft de Misfits meer dan genoeg ruimte om in grappige en vreemde situaties te belanden. Bijvoorbeeld: In het eerste seizoen is Nathan de enige personage die er maar niet achter weet te komen wat zijn superkracht is, wat tot erg komische situaties leidt waarin hij verschillende dingen uitprobeert . De personages ontwikkelen allemaal een kracht die past bij hun persoonlijkheid. De serie zit vol grappige, harde en rake opmerkingen. Tel daarbij op dat er ook de nodige "hitsige" scenes in zitten wat meteen duidelijk maakt dat het absoluut geen serie is voor kinderen . Ik moet eerlijk zijn : Dit was dus wel mijn eerste indruk toen ik de serie zag staan in de winkel. Misfits is stijlvol gefilmd, de fel Oranje gekleurde "Jumpsuits" liggen perfect in contrast tegen de grauwe omgeving waar de serie zich afspeelt. De muziek is erg modern, geen flauwe orkest melodietjes. Alleen de theme song blijft al in je kop hangen (tenminste bij mij wel )
