Eleven years ago a horrific fire took Alice’s family from her and left her mind horrifically scarred. She travels there, seeking what the "real" world can’t provide: security, knowledge, and the truth about the past. But in her absence, Wonderland too has suffered. Cult?
Met een 7 op metacritic vallen de reviews een beetje laag vergeleken met wat ik heb beleefd met deze titel. Het "vervolg" op de "cult"-"hit" American McGee's Alice voor de PC. Veel mensen zullen denken ohhh Alice dat is toch dat sprookje van Disney? Hmm Ja en nee, Ja het gaat over dezelfde Alice en nee niet het sprookje. Deze versie van Alice is eerder een griezelverhaal dan een sprookje, veel bloed en enge momenten daarom heeft deze titel ook een hoge leeftijdsgrens. Alice: Madness Returns speelt zich af net na de gebeurtenissen van deel 1. Alice leeft nu in een opvang, ze wordt nog steeds geplaagd door de dood van haar familie door een brand in hun huis. Hiervoor wordt ze onderzocht door een psychiater die hypnose gebruikt om kinderen hun vervelende herinneringen te laten vergeten. Door deze hypnose "triggert" Alice hallucinaties over van alles. Ze wordt naar de apotheek gestuurd om medicijn te halen maar ze ziet een witte kat en volgt deze. Erna beland ze weer in "Wonderland" en het avontuur begint om Alice haar geschiedenis/herinneringen terug te krijgen!
