Earl (Fred Ward) and Val (Kevin Bacon) are packed up and ready to leave there small town of Perfection in Nevada. Their plans are soon shattered when just as they are about to leave the ground suddenly starts to rumble violently.
Earl and Val soon come to realise that they won’t be going anywhere when a giant man eating creature from underground begins to wreak havoc and starts to kill off the townspeople one by one. Now the two who were originally going to leave stay and fight the creature and protect their fellow neighbours!

Jeugdsentiment
Deze film is echt jeugdsentiment. Ondanks de leeftijd van de film zijn de special effects nog steeds goed. Vooral de chemie tussen de hoofdrolspelers en de humor verveelt niet. Het geluid en het beeld van de blu-ray zijn ook opmerkelijk goed. Het beeld flikkert wel af en toe, maar verder zijn er geen onregelmatigheden of andere storende zaken waar te nemen. De blu-ray bevat ook nog enkele extra's. Het is een goede blu-ray voor een tijdloze film.
