2001 the next step
De film 2001 blijft een topper voor mij. Die op videoband dvd blue ray en nu UHD in mijn collectie staat. Moet zeggen de mensen hebben een transfeer gemaakt. Waar je WAUW tegen zegd. Bleed is gewoonweg subliem geluid is ook zeer mooi. De steelbook uitgave is apart. Je vindt hem mooi of niet. Zelf vindt ik hem zeer goed bij de film passen. Een punt van aandacht vindt ik nog altijd. Waarom geen sleeve voor steelbooks. Om het artwork te beschermen.

Essential Kubrick
2001 : A SPACE ODYSSEY is al véél keer verschenen op DVD en BLU-RAY maar het is deze 4K restoratie in steel book versie die niet mag ontbreken in elke Kubrick fan collectie. Het artwork is prachtig. De film blijft één van de beste science fiction films ooit gemaakt naast Solaris & Stalker van Tarkovsky en Blade Runner van Ridley Scott. Kubrick heeft maar weinig films gemaakt tijdens zijn carrière maar de kwaliteit stond dan weer torenhoog. Bovendien is deze film toch wel één van de mooiste verfilmingen van een Arthur C. Clarke science fiction verhaal en Kubrick heeft nauw samengewerkt met deze auteur om tot een meesterwerk te komen. Het einde van de film was wellicht ook een inspiratie voor vele films zoals oa Interstellar. Deze steel book kan ik met harte aanbevelen.
