The Darkness II is the sequel to the critically-acclaimed 2007 release, The Darkness, and features an original story by acclaimed comic writer Paul Jenkins.
It’s been two years since Jackie Estacado, now Don of the Franchetti crime family, used The Darkness to kill the men responsible for his girlfriend’s murder. He’s been unable to shake the memory of Jenny’s death since bottling up his supernatural power and now The Darkness wants out.
A sudden, unprovoked attack on Jackie’s life heralds the start of a full-scale mob war which has clearly been orchestrated by some outside force. The botched attempt opens the door for The Darkness to re-emerge, and sets Jackie on a journey to hell and worse as he unravels the mystery behind the attack and the motivations of The Darkness itself.

Valt tegen
The Darkness 2 viel mij erg tegen, in vergelijking met deel 1. Deel 1 was een aangename verrassing waarin je elke keer verder wou spelen. In deel 2 valt dit tegen. Het is meer gericht op het schieten, wat ik persoonlijk jammer vind. Toch is het al met al een leuke game om even doorheen te spelen. De singleplayer was niet erg lang, rond de vijf a zes uur. De co-op missies zijn wel weer, in vergelijking met deel 1, een leuke toevoeging. Het is toch altijd leuker om met anderen te spelen. Als je deel 1 hebt gespeeld, moet je deel 2 ook spelen.

In The darkness 2 speel je als Jackie Estacado net als in het vorige deel.Jackie heeft een power dat The darkness heet.Dat zijn twee tentakels waarmee je enemies uit elkaar kan schuren.Aleen het besturen van de tentakels gaat wat stroef .De graphics zijn prachtig,het ziet er uit als een soort strip boek.Het heeft maar dan ook een goed verhaal.Maar de singleplayer speel je wel in 5 uur uit.

Goed spel
Spel is een uitstekend vervolg op deel I. Grapisch is het een compleet andere stijl dan deel 1 maar persoonlijk vind ik dat een goede keuze. Het "getekende/comic stijl" geeft het spel een eigen character. Gameplay is zeer goed, ik kon maar weinig bugs/fouten vinden. Single player verhaal is zoals deel I zeer goed en de co-op missies zijn ook erg orgineel. Al in al is het een goed spel en een goede koop.
