DOA5 stages are more than spectacular visual backdrops, instead playing to a fighter’s strengths. As a fight progresses, the backdrop will change and interact with players. Skilled fighters will be able to utilize these dynamic stages to pit their opponents against fresh obstacles to create a new fighting experience. This fusion of combat and dynamically changing backdrops is a formula for the evolution of fighting games as “Fighting Entertainment”.
With a sensual yet realistic style, DEAD OR ALIVE 5 characters are rendered in incredibly lifelike detail. From smooth, lithe muscles to emotive facial expressions, every character comes to life. Characters can even perspire as they fight, with realistic depiction of wet skin, damp hair, and moist, semi-translucent clothing as the match progresses.
Along with a rich array of single player modes including story mode, DOA5 offers new online options with arcade-style matches, tournaments, and social features. Dead or Alive 5, de energieke fighter
Allereerst wil ik zeggen dat deze game mij zeer goed bevalt: de controls zijn simpel en logisch, je hoeft niet een hele move-list uit je hoofd te kennen om elkaar te slim af te zijn, je betrekt je omgeving bij het gevecht en de game is ook grafisch goed. Kortom, met het gevechtssysteem en de game is niks mis. Wat me wel enigszins tegenvalt, is de manier waarop de game wordt gespeeld als vrouwelijk personage. Dat de Dead or Alive-franchise van vrouwen houdt, is bekend. Dat Team Ninja ze graag in schaarse kleding stopt, is ook duidelijk. Daar heb ik weinig op tegen. Maar wat ik minder vind is de voortdurende beweging van de borsten: je personage loopt één stap naar voren, en ze vliegen al omhoog en omlaag. Op een gegeven moment is dat gewoon storend en nep, evenals de geluiden die de dames maken als ze verloren hebben: een enorm gekreun. Maar als je daar weinig op tegen hebt, is dit een geweldige game. De singleplayer valt mij ietwat tegen, maar ik heb het spel dan ook vanwege de multiplayer gekocht. Als je regelmatig met wat vrienden bij elkaar zit en een Xbox tot je beschikking hebt, is deze game naar mijn idee echt een must-have in het 'Fighter' genre.
